Hey Guys,
Been a while since my last post. Apologies for the wait, but the list of accomplishments has been growing over the past couple of months.
Lots of you call me the curve breaker(not academically), the pattern smasher, and the best has to be "The guy that always seems to hit that reset button inside".
What's the secret? It is smaller than you think...
Your mind is what makes you act. You think, act and then feel... whether you are not in tune enough with yourself or not, that is the order. Ralph Waldo Emerson says it like this "The ancestor to every action is a thought". What you think about determines how you feel...
You never feel your way into acting. We are not designed to be so primal. We have the ability to think, then act...
That is the key. If you ever wanted to quote me directly, this would be the one that has resonated with the most people...
"You don't feel your way into acting, you act your way into feeling." - JWCIV
Think about it. You do not start feeling different about your current state until you actually do some action to change it.
Easiest way to change what you think about? Listen to yourself. The very words that you utter to yourself are the words that initiate your thoughts. therefore words = thoughts= action=feeling. Quantify it like this. If the inputs in this chain are of a certain association you will feel that way at the end of the process.
So, words that carry a joyous association will yield joyous feelings...Words that have a stressful association in your mind will yield a stressful feeling.
Listen to the phrases that you tell yourself and realize that you can command the way that you feel at will.
Instead of saying that you have "Had it up to here" say it this way: "I am getting close to reaching my maximum".
This slight difference will literally make you feel different about the situation.
works in responses also. When you respond to someone and you utter something like " That is ridiculous" think about the way that you feel about what was told to you.
Find words that carry different associations with them.
Watch the phrases that you tell people.
"What if you meant to say, "what's troubling you", and instead you said: "what's wrong with you?"" - Jim Rohn
Simple as that...Grab a dictionary and start finding the words that will keep you strong, solid, refreshed, amazed, and grateful.
You are in for a treat. One of my heroes is Will Smith. If there was ever someone that could be said to be a jack of all trades, it would be him...
Listen to his words...Feel the message...Make the day yours!
Let me know what you think.
Cheers,
JC
